Erin Andrews Looks Back on Working with Tom Brady, Blasts “Ridiculous” Criticism of Patrick Mahomes
As the NFL gears up for another action packed season, veteran sideline reporter Erin Andrews is sharing her insights on working alongside legendary quarterback Tom Brady and addressing the unfair criticism aimed at Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes .

Tom Brady’s Transition to the Broadcast Booth
After an illustrious 23 year career and seven Super Bowl victories, Tom Brady has traded his helmet for a headset, stepping into the role of color commentator for Fox Sports. While Brady’s status as the greatest of all time is unquestioned, his transition to broadcasting is still a work in progress. Fortunately, he’s surrounded by a top tier team, including play by play announcer Kevin Burkhardt , sideline reporter Erin Andrews , and analyst Tom Rinaldi .
Andrews, who is entering her 12th season as Fox’s NFL sideline reporter and boasts two decades of experience in sports journalism, recently spoke with NBC’s Morgan Chesky about her experience working with Brady and her outlook on the upcoming NFL season.
No Tips for the GOAT—Just Vacation Advice
When asked if she had offered Brady any broadcasting tips, Andrews laughed off the idea. Instead, she admitted that she’s the one seeking advice from Brady—though it’s more about planning dream vacations than breaking down football plays.
“I don’t give the GOAT any tips. I ask him for tips on how I can have fantastic European vacations like he does. Tom is the best on and off the field. He is only gonna get that much better. You don’t doubt the GOAT.”
Andrews expressed confidence that Brady will continue to improve in the booth, praising his unmatched football intellect and ability to break down plays. She finds it surreal to call TB12 a coworker and is still amazed by the fresh perspective he brings to production meetings.
“He sees things that even if I write 800 articles, he will see things so differently than I ever will. It’s still a cool pinch yourself moment to sit in production meetings and hear his perspective. It’s pretty awesome.”

NFL Season Preview: Eagles, Chiefs, and Rodgers
Looking ahead to the new season, Andrews highlighted several storylines to watch:
Philadelphia Eagles: Andrews noted the Eagles’ optimism after keeping much of their core roster intact following their Super Bowl win. However, she cautioned that injuries are always a threat and raised questions about star running back Saquon Barkley’s ability to replicate past performances. The loss of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore also leaves questions about the team’s offensive and defensive strength.
Kansas City Chiefs: Last season’s runner ups, the Chiefs, face their own challenges. Andrews specifically addressed the unfair body shaming that quarterback Patrick Mahomes has faced on social media, calling the criticism “ridiculous.”
“There’s nothing wrong with his body or fitness. It’s ridiculous to body shame someone who always delivers when it matters most.”
Aaron Rodgers: Andrews is also eager to see Aaron Rodgers return to the field, but she’s holding off on making bold Super Bowl predictions, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of the NFL.
The NFL: “The Biggest Reality Show”
For Andrews, the excitement of the NFL lies in its unpredictability. She describes the league as “the biggest reality show,” where anything can happen and no outcome is guaranteed.
In summary:
Erin Andrews remains a passionate advocate for the players she covers and is thrilled to work alongside Tom Brady as he embarks on his broadcasting career. As the new season approaches, she’s focused on the compelling storylines, defending athletes from unfair criticism, and embracing the wild unpredictability that makes football America’s favorite reality show.
