Caitlyn Clark, one of the most dynamic and talented players in women’s basketball, has undergone an incredible transformation that is turning heads in the WNBA. While Clark was already known for her exceptional scoring ability and signature step-back three-pointer, she’s now adding an entirely new level to her game that will make her a nightmare for defenders.
During her rookie season, it was clear that Clark had the skill to compete in the league, but she was physically overpowered by some of the toughest defenders. She was often pushed around, with defenders dominating her on the court. Despite being highly skilled, Clark’s lack of physical strength was a glaring flaw. But that was just the beginning.
Clark took those struggles to heart, hitting the gym hard during the offseason. She focused on bulking up and gaining strength, and the results have been nothing short of jaw-dropping. Gone is the scrawny rookie who struggled to hold her ground—now, Caitlyn Clark has transformed her physique, and she is ready to take on anyone. Her arms have grown significantly, her muscles are defined, and she’s developed a whole new presence on the court. As Coach Stephanie White confirmed, Clark’s increased strength has added an entirely new dimension to her game.
This physical transformation is not just about her appearance—it’s about how she plays. Clark is no longer just a sharpshooter; she is now a more complete player who can handle contact and power her way to the basket. Defenders who once bullied her will find themselves on the wrong end of a mismatch as Clark has learned to use her newfound strength to back down smaller defenders in the post, create space, and score with authority. It’s a game-changer.
But it’s not just her offensive game that’s benefiting from this change. Clark’s defense has improved as well. She can now fight through screens and hold her ground against bigger players, making her a more complete player on both ends of the court. Her newfound physicality makes her a more versatile player, capable of guarding small forwards and bigger opponents, which was once a challenge in her rookie season.
Beyond her power moves, Clark’s game is evolving. She has been working on her left hand, her floater, and mid-range shooting—making her an even more dangerous threat from every area of the court. The combination of finesse and strength has elevated her to a whole new level, and she’s quickly becoming a more well-rounded player.
The impact of Clark’s transformation is already being felt around the league. Coaches and defenders are nervous. Some experts are predicting she could average a double-double in points and assists, which is a statline typically seen from the all-time greats. And it’s not just about scoring anymore—Clark is developing her playmaking skills. With defenders collapsing on her, she’s able to find open teammates for easy assists, further solidifying her value as a playmaking threat.
But what does this all mean for her future? Experts are already considering her as a potential MVP candidate in just her second season. Imagine what she could do in the years to come. If she continues on this trajectory, Clark could become one of the best players the WNBA has ever seen. Her commitment to improving every aspect of her game shows that she’s not content with being good—she wants to be legendary.
Even though she’s still early in her career, the improvements she’s made in just one offseason are incredible. Caitlyn Clark is no longer just a talented shooter; she’s a physically dominant force capable of taking over games in ways that we’ve never seen before. As a result, defenders are going to have to rethink how they guard her.
The best part? This is just the beginning. Caitlyn Clark is setting new standards in the WNBA, and her transformation is sending shockwaves throughout the league. If there was any doubt about her potential, that should be erased now. She is on the path to greatness, and the rest of the league better be ready for her.
In the coming years, Caitlyn Clark could be the best player in the WNBA, and she’s already well on her way to achieving that goal. By the time she reaches her peak, we might be witnessing history in the making, as she becomes a dominant force in women’s basketball for years to come. This is Caitlyn Clark’s moment, and we are all lucky to witness it unfold.
Caitlin Clark featured on new Nike banners in downtown Des Moines. Where to find them.
Iowa native Caitlin Clark is back in Des Moines.
Well, symbolically, at least, as two new Nike banners featuring the 23-year-old star were unveiled on Court Avenue in Des Moines on Thursday.
One of the banners is located on the side of Court Avenue Restaurant & Brewing Co. and the second is on the side of The Elliott apartment building roughly 500 feet away.
The massive banner on the side of Court Avenue Restaurant & Brewing Co. covers nearly the entire height of the building and spans about two-thirds of the building’s width. It features Clark in a triple-threat stance with a basketball in her hands and the words “You Can’t Win. So Win” in bold above her.
The “So win” slogan is a part of the brand’s new advertising campaign featuring female athletes challenging their critics. Clark appeared in Nike’s “So Win” commercial during this year’s Super Bowl, the Oregon-based shoe and apparel company’s first Super Bowl commercial in 27 years.
The second graced on The Elliott features Clark stoically looking at the camera and sporting some Nike gear.
Has Caitlin Clark been featured on Nike banners before?
The former Iowa Hawkeyes star appeared on a banner hung in downtown Iowa City last spring on the side of Edge Iowa City, a seven-story building.
The banner depicted Clark during a jump shot, with a second one located a couple hundred feet away that featured a basketball hoop and the text “This was never a long shot,” with Nike and Iowa’s Tigerhawk logos located beneath it.
Nike also released Caitlin Clark billboards around the Iowa City area during this time with quotes related to Clark.
The banners hung in Iowa City from early March to late April last year.
Once going pro, the large-scale advertising campaigns for her followed. In the lead-up to her debut for the Indiana Fever last May, Gatorade installed a 150-foot banner featuring Clark in downtown Indianapolis.
When Clark took home WNBA’s Rookie of the Year in October, Nike unveiled a banner on the side of the Fever’s arena celebrating her victory.
What is Caitlin Clark’s contract with Nike?
The former Iowa women’s basketball star signed an 8-year, $28 million endorsement deal with Nike in April 2024.
