LA Sparks Star’s 3-Word Reaction to Unrivaled BTS Clip Stirs the Pot on Cameron Brink’s 3×3 Debut

Though Cameron Brink’s entry into the Unrivaled League as a wildcard pick had fans buzzing, her announcement that she won’t participate this season was, understandably, a bit of a letdown. However, the star forward isn’t letting her injury sideline her entirely. She’s actively engaging in the league while focusing on recovery. And just when we thought we wouldn’t see much action, a recent update from her LA Sparks teammate sparked a glimmer of hope for fans.
Rae Burrell reposted a video of Brink working on her pickup reps and wrote, “Love to see it” and the three-word zinger, “In due time.” Naturally, those three words set social media ablaze with speculation. Does this hint at a possible cameo from Brink this season? Probably not, but fans can dream, right?
The video itself was originally posted by Lunar Owls’ head coach DJ Sackmann, who captioned it, “Still looking for ways to improve through rehab. Keep going. The get back will be 💪 #hoopstudy #unrivaled.” While Sackmann’s message focused on her dedication to recovery, Burrell’s repost led fans to wonder if there’s more to the story.
For now, we know that Brink joined the Unrivaled League’s Lunar Owls as a wildcard pick, bringing her skills to a star-studded roster featuring Skylar Diggins-Smith, Shakira Austin, and Allisha Gray. However, it was reported that she would not hit the court due to an ACL injury she sustained last June.
The injury happened during a Sparks game against the Connecticut Sun when the W star, while driving to the basket, landed awkwardly. The 23-year-old promising rookie’s WNBA season came to an abrupt end.
And as we have seen ACL injuries typically require nine to ten months of recovery, which means fans will have to wait until the 2026 season to see her in Unrivaled action. But she’s not sitting idle. Brink has been actively involved in practices with the Lunar Owls.
“I’m just really appreciative that I’m able to be here and that my teammates are super accepting of me and cheering me on from the sidelines,” the 2024 draftee shared. “I haven’t been able to do a ton, but [I’m doing] more and more every day.”
Even though she’s not playing, Brink’s presence in the league is impossible to miss.
From behind-the-scenes fun practice videos to media day, she has been there. A recent video captured a hilarious moment during practice when Brink sank a half-court shot right on the Unrivaled logo. The celebration that followed cracked everyone up.
Brink broke into a victory dance before jumping into Skylar Diggins-Smith’s arms. In addition, for Unrivaled’s media day, Brink showed up in full Lunar Owls uniform, looking every bit the star she is. Then there’s her reaction to tennis superstar Coco Gauff joining the Unrivaled League as an investor.
Gauff’s announcement was everywhere, and Brink’s enthusiastic “WAHOOOO” on Instagram perfectly captured this move’s excitement. Coco’s involvement underscores the growing momentum behind women’s basketball.
So, realistically, the chances of Cameron Brink making an appearance this season are slim to none. Recovery from an ACL injury is a meticulous process, and Brink is wisely prioritizing her long-term health. But we can’t help but hold on to a sliver of hope. Because when Brink finally does take the court for the Lunar Owls, it’ll be worth the wait. Until then, her off-court contributions are keeping fans engaged.
