Caitlin Clark’s ex-Hawkeye team-mate Jada Gyamfi joked that the WNBA star is “so close to blocking her on social media” following her cheeky remark.
Last year, Clark had a stellar run with Iowa, catapulting the Hawkeyes to consecutive National Championship bids and leaving her college career as the NCAA’s top scorer. She became the talk of the sports scene recently, leading an illustrious 2024 class that brought unprecedented viewers and buzz to the WNBA.
Selected first in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark made waves on-court and snagged the WNBA Rookie of the Year title with a stellar 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and a chart-topping 8.4 assists per game average. After the Fever bowed out early in their first playoff race since 2016, Clark is taking it easy in her debut professional off-season.
Clark’s downtime seems full of laughter, as the guard is known for ribbing teammates and friends online, causing hilarity with a recent jab at Indiana Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton over his toes.
On Friday, Clark took aim at former Iowa team-mates Hannah Stuelke and Gyamfi after the duo shared a TikTok dance video. Instead of joining in on the fun, Clark commented: “More film and sleeping. Less TikTok.” Gymafi, who uploaded the TikTok, was quick to fire back at Clark as she said: “I’m so close to blocking you on socials.”

Clark is clearly rooting for Iowa to maintain their strong start to the season and is encouraging her ex-team-mates to focus on their game. Currently ranked No.17, the Hawkeyes have kicked off the 2024-25 campaign with an impressive 8-0 record; Stuelke is averaging 14.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, while Gyamfi is contributing 2.0 points in fewer minutes.
Iowa’s next match is an away game against the undefeated Tennessee on Saturday, December 7. In the meantime, Clark will be enjoying the rest of her offseason before gearing up for her second campaign in the WNBA, which starts in May 2025.
