McDonald’s Grant Caitlin Clark’s Longtime Wish As Iconic Dish Is All Set to Make 2025 Return
Caitlin Clark isn’t just known for her skills on the court—she’s built a brand all her own. Every move she makes off the court sparks curiosity and garners engagement from fans, a true testament to her influence. While Clark is currently enjoying some well-deserved downtime, there’s a major update from McDonald’s that could fulfill a request she made a couple of years ago.
Yesterday, McDonald’s made a major announcement with a teaser that has fans buzzing. The fast-food giant revealed it will be bringing back a fan-favorite to the menu after a long hiatus. Their social media post read, “snack wraps xx.xx.2025,” sparking excitement everywhere. McDonald’s is now bringing back the dish, which they discontinued in 2016 after just three years on the menu. As it turns out, Caitlin Clark had been hoping for this moment.
Back in 2022, McDonald’s had asked fans to tweet, “bring back _____.” Without hesitation, the Fever star responded by retweeting it with the simple request: “snack wraps.” Well, now, over two years later, it seems her wish has finally been granted. “The snack wrap will be back in 2025,” McDonald’s USA president Joe Erlinger confirmed the return of the snack wrap in 2025 during an interview on Good Morning America.
He also said, “This has a cult following, I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.” Erlinger didn’t specify an exact date for the snack wraps’ return in 2025, citing “competitive reasons.” However, the snack wraps have continued to be available in other countries, such as Canada and the United Kingdom. While McDonald’s decision might fulfill Clark’s request, the reigning Rookie of the Year has long had aspirations of entering a similar industry herself.
Caitlin Clark’s future restaurant dream
Last month, during a podcast with her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, hosted by current Hawkeye forward Jada Gyamfi, Caitlin Clark discussed her future plans beyond basketball. She shared her excitement about a goal she’s eager to pursue once her playing career comes to an end.
“You ever seen them put up that like dream thing? You know it was kind of going around it said like ‘play in the WNBA and get a scholarship’. One of them said like ‘own a restaurant’. So one day I have to accomplish that,” the Des Moines native revealed. With a net worth of $3.1 million, Caitlin Clark seems poised to venture into the restaurant industry in the future.
The National Restaurant Association projects this rapidly growing market will surpass $1.1 trillion in 2024, up from $997 billion the previous year. On the podcast, Clark reminisced about a childhood story that sparked her aspiration to open a restaurant. “So hopefully one day maybe I will have a coffee shop or like a restaurant or something. Just like a fun thing once I’m done playing,” she added.
While the Iowa alumna’s restaurant dream is still a distant goal, she plans to pursue it once her playing career ends. In the meantime, she can enjoy her favorite dishes at places like McDonald’s, especially now that they’ve fulfilled her “snack wrap” request.
