Not Patrick Mahomes But Calls Mount Against NFL For Robbing Another Chiefs Superstar Of Pro Bowl Appearance

Whoever voted for the five players that Kansas City is sending to the 2025 Pro Bowl games didn’t carry out their tasks properly. And no, we are not talking about Patrick Mahomes. His Pro Bowl snub hits differently for what he has achieved with the Chiefs this season. But it’s the defensive side of things that needs everyone’s attention. As last year’s All-Pro CB, Trent McDuffie, found himself ditched yet again from a Pro Bowl trip.
Well, the Chiefs are sending a trio of starters and two backups to this year’s Pro Bowl. Fan favorite Travis Kelce has crushed the voting required to secure a Pro Bowl accolade. He had racked in 252,200 votes before the voting window closed on December 23rd. This would be Kelce’s 10th Pro Bowl honor while leaving him just behind the likes of Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten. Their 14 and 11 Pro Bowls, respectively, remain the highest in terms of Tight Ends in Pro Bowls.
As for Kelce, he didn’t really have a great season to his usual standards. After 16 games, the three-time Super Bowl Champion has hauled in 97 catches for 823 yards. However, his end zone scores have taken a massive hit, with only 3 this season. Now, besides Kelce, the Chiefs also have their sixth-consecutive Pro Bowler in Chris Jones. His numbers aren’t great either. As the Chiefs’ defensive tackle only recorded five sacks, his lowest since 2016’s rookie season.
Although there could questions about Kelce’s and Jones’s Pro Bowl honors, the Chiefs’ trio of O-line deserves their place without any hinge of a doubt. Center Creed Humphrey, Guard Trey Smith, and former Guard now left tackle Joe Thuney have brought stabilization to the Chiefs O-line. With that, Humphrey gets his third consecutive Pro Bowl honor while Thuney follows him, and Smith gets his first of many in Kansas City.
But the thing that caught everyone’s attention was Trent McDuffie failing to make the final list of Pro Bowl.
