“It kind of depends on the mood that I’m in,” Mahomes explained. “There’s times where I’m listening to music, and I’m a guy that just goes to my songs and just hits shuffle. I don’t have a ton of like, playlists, except for game day. So I just want to, I just listen to old music, new music, whatever that is.”
Rather than name-drop Taylor Swift or any other artist, Mahomes made it clear that his car rides are about unwinding and variety. Sometimes, it’s music; other times, it’s comedy podcasts to keep the mood light. “Then obviously, there’s times I got to be on the phone… Sometimes those car rides are so, like you said, are like, sacred to me. I hate being on the phone. There are sometimes we’ve got to handle some business things like that. And so it’s a mixture of them all.”
