Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t too pleased with how the 2024 NFL season came to a close.

After losing three turnovers in a 40-22 blowout loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Mahomes admitted it was one of the “worst” feelings of his career.

“Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it is the worst feeling in the world. They’ll stick with you the rest of your career,” Mahomes told reporters after the game. “These will be the two losses that will motivate me to be even better the rest of my career, because you only get so few of these and you have to capitalize on these and they hurt probably more than the wins feel good.”

The three-time Super Bowl isn’t resting on his laurels this offseason. He’s already putting in the work necessary to get back to where he’s already been five times – with a chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

A photo from a recent workout show the hard work Mahomes is putting into the offseason following the team’s embarrassing effort against Philadelphia.

The photo sparked plenty of reaction on social media.

“I can’t wait. That was his moment of reckoning the league is in trouble now,” one person said.

“Mahomes is like a lion after a hunt—he’s not just bouncing back, he’s coming back stronger. That loss lit a fire under him. Gonna watch him dominate this season for sure,” offered another.

“He better get that way. He gets $55m a year. Seems like physical fitness would be a priority,” said another bluntly.

Mahomes has posted a number of videos of himself in the gym over the past few weeks, sending a clear message that he’s not holding back this offseason.
