Shaquille O’Neal Seemingly Makes Angel Reese Uncomfortable With Awkward Comments on Podcast

Shaquille O’Neal is facing backlash for some awkward comments he made about Angel Reese on a recent episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast.
O’Neal appeared on Reese’s podcast and spoke about why the WNBA should lower its rims so players can dunk more, explaining that it could bring more excitement to an already thrilling game.
But one example that he used for why it should be lowered skewed on the sexually suggestive side.
“Imagine you in the same li’l shorts you had on at the Wild ‘N Out show dunking,” Shaq joked. “You know how many T-shirts you gonna sell? You trippin’.”
Reese responded in shock, seemingly caught off guard by his comment.
“Oh my God,” she said with a scoff—and O’Neal kept going. “The same little shorts you had on at Wild ‘N Out… I’m just saying.”
The moment quickly passed, with Reese saying “OK, all right, all right, all right,” while he talked about it.
Reese and Shaq, both former LSU Tigers, have long held ties. O’Neal became president of basketball at Reebok in October 2023, and one of his first moves was to sign Reese, resulting in her new shoe and apparel collection that hit stores in August.
This week, Reese and Reebok announced that she’ll be the second WNBA to have a signature shoe with the brand, which will debut next year.
Prior to a previous game, Shaq spoke about his bond with Reese, saying, “She’s like a daughter to me. So, I’m gonna protect her, I’ll call her, and I’ll just mess with her. But she’s great, she’s our daughter.”
Reese has also celebrated her relationship with the NBA legend. In a conversation with USA Today , she spoke highly of his realness.
“He’s so genuine, he’s been there for me through tough times,” she said. ”He just gets it, and there’s not a more perfect person for me to be tight with. We have fun, and if I need anything, he would help me … and he would do that even if I never played basketball again.”
