American pop star Taylor Swift’s fans have taken to social media to criticize comedian Hannah Berner for making an “extremely se**st” joke about the singer.

The backlash began when a clip of Berner surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she commented on Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce on Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.

The clip began with her complimenting Luigi Mangione, claiming he is “so hot right now.” Mangione has gone viral since he was charged with assassinating the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

“Who knew besides Travis Kelce that you could become so popular with women by shooting loads into a billionaire?,” she joked.

Soon after, people started taking to social media to give their thoughts on the joke. One user claimed that the comment was “degrading to Taylor” while another stated, “Travis Kelce just keeps picking up stray bullets at this point.”

However, not all responses were negative as some defended the comedian. One user questioned, “It’s a roast. What did you expect? G-rated feel good comedy?”

Although Berner has not yet responded to the controversy, she similarly started heated conversations when she made a derogatory comment about actress Blake Lively.

The comment came amidst rumors of Lively’s alleged bad behavior and clash with Justin Baldoni while filming It Ends With Us.

After the special aired, news broke of Lively having filed a complaint against Baldoni for sexual harassment. Berner clarified her stance afterwards, “To be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo.”
