Is there bad blood between Taylor Swift and Patrick Mahomes? The Tortured Poets Department singer was notably absent from one of Mahomes’ events, but her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce made quite the appearance.

Travis Kelce attended Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ charity 15 and Mahomies Golf Gala in Las Vegas, Nev. on the weekend of May 17. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised the event saying that he had a “a f–king blast.”

“It’s just gotten better and better,” he gushed. “[They] keep raising more and more money every single year for the underserved communities in Kansas City.”

During the event, the charity also auctioned off a guitar signed by Taylor Swift. Travis raised eyebrows when he used his paddle to bid on the item, but he put it down after he realized something important. He recalled the moment on his podcast New Heights with his brother Jason.

“There’s this clip of you helping raise money for a good cause by running up an auction price for a signed guitar,” his brother mentioned. He quickly quipped, “Running up an auction price? No, I put my paddle up because I wanted it then I realized, ‘Oh, I already have that one.’”

He added, “I had to get a good look at it, you don’t want to buy the same guitar twice.”

Taylor and Travis both attended the event in 2024 and auctioned off 2 pairs of Eras Tour tickets as a surprise for the attendees. “I just talked to my significant other,” the NFL tight end said onstage, “We might have one other auction item that wasn’t on the docket. Has anybody heard of the Eras tour? There might be a fun game where there are four tickets to the New Orleans, Miami or Minneapolis dates when the Eras tour comes back to the United States. Does that fire anybody up right now?”

Elsewhere this weekend, Taylor Swift was the target of President Donald Trump when he posted a dig at the singer on his social media app Truth Social. He asked his followers, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump previously expressed his disdain towards the “Lover” singer when he posted “I hate Taylor Swift,” days after she endorsed Kamala Harris for President in October 2024.

A source told the Daily Mail that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is “seething” after seeing the President’s social media post. “Travis is livid that the President of the United States is talking negatively about Taylor,” they said. “He is so mad that he is going to use it as motivation during training for the season ahead, especially if Trump continues talking.”

They continued, “Since Travis can’t say anything publicly because that would just open another can of worms, he has to figure out ways to get it out of his system because he would love to protect Taylor and stick up for her. But keeping quiet is the move he has to do right now.”

When Donald Trump attended the Super Bowl LIX, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes reacted similarly. Travis said playing in front of the president is “a great honor.” He said in a press conference, “I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”

“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Patrick told reporters. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.” Trump previously called the quarterback a great football player. “It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” Patrick said. Patrick Mahomes’ family is rumored to be Trump supporters. However, the quarterback did not endorse him as a candidate after the President praised his wife, Brittany.

In October 2024, Trump posted an AI-generated photo of Taylor Swift endorsing him. Taylor Swift took to social media to clear up her stance. “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” she wrote on Instagram. “It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Though the megastar’s absence might raise some questions, the star is likely still taking her “break” after her expansive Eras Tour. And who knows, maybe she’ll have a grand comeback at the American Music Awards?
