Tom Brady‘s summer has been full of milestones, but none bigger than seeing his eldest son step into adulthood. Earlier this month, the seven-time Super Bowl champion turned 48, and just days later, he marked another moment that hit even closer to home.
His son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan, better known as Jack, turned 18, a birthday Brady admitted stirred both pride and emotion.
On Instagram, Brady shared a tribute that showed a different side of the former NFL star, one rooted not in football but in fatherhood.
He praised Jack for embodying qualities of grace, courage, and kindness, writing that he couldn’t be prouder of the man his son is becoming.
Brady acknowledged the challenges that come with adulthood but made it clear his heart was “overflowing with happiness and pride” as he wished Jack a year filled with joy and growth.
The celebration extended beyond words. Just before Jack‘s birthday, Brady had posted photos from a golf outing, where his son joined him for nine holes. Dressed in Nobull gear, Brady looked relaxed on the course, but it was Jack who stole the spotlight. Taller and stockier than his famous father, Jack appeared every bit the athlete in his own right.

A family milestone, but different responses
For Brady, the milestone carried deep meaning. Jack, born in 2007 from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan, has grown up in the public eye yet managed to maintain a relatively private life compared to his father’s.
Over the years, Brady has shared glimpses of their bond, whether it was on the football field, at the golf course, or simply enjoying time together as father and son. Now, watching Jack step into adulthood adds another chapter to that story.
But while Brady filled social media with messages of love and pride, not everyone in the family joined in publicly. Gisele Bundchen, Brady‘s ex-wife, did not post any birthday wishes for Jack.
Her absence was noticeable to fans who have watched her play a stepmother role in his life for more than a decade. Instead, Bundchen shared photos of her own life: vacation snapshots, moments with her younger children Benny and Vivi, and time with her partner Joaquim Valente.
Those pictures, posted two days before Jack‘s big day, showed Benny playing basketball with Valente and Vivi bonding with a horse.
More recently, reports surfaced that Bundchen and Valente welcomed a child together, signaling her focus has shifted to a new chapter of her own.
While she hasn’t spoken publicly about Jack‘s milestone, the timing of her posts raised eyebrows among followers who expected acknowledgment of the 18-year-old’s birthday.
