‘Days of Our Lives’ Linsey Godfrey Opens Up About Sarah’s Life-Changing Secret|KF

The fan favorite actress opens up about all the drama to come on the Peacock soap opera.

Days of Our Lives’ Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) has been keeping a big secret from her husband Xander (Paul Telfer).

His biological half-brother Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) falsified a letter to gain partial control of Titan Industries.

The pressure of the secret is beginning to be too much for Sarah, and as more people learn the truth, it’s only a matter of time before it destroys Sarah’s life.

On-screen, Sarah recently opened up and told her mother the truth about the secret she’s been keeping.

Godfrey spoke with Soap Opera Digest about Sarah confiding in her mother Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), saying, “It’s just Maggie and Sarah’s relationship.

Sarah has always looked up to her mom as somebody who gives wise and very sage advice, and she’s somebody that Sarah has leaned on.

It’s a natural thing for Sarah to unburden herself, and the person that would make the most sense is the person that Sarah would want comfort from and the person that would tell her whether or not she’s doing the right thing.”

Sarah was surprised by her mother’s reaction; Maggie was very understanding of the situation.

Godfrey continued, “I think everyone that knows the secret can relate to or at least understand Sarah’s thought process.

If they don’t agree with it, they can at least see where she’s coming from.

She’s trying to prevent her husband from being a supervillain, essentially.”

Discussing how Godfrey expects her on-screen husband to react when the truth finally comes out, she said, “Sarah is somebody who Xander has loved as fiercely as possible and also been more angry at than he’s ever been at anyone.

If you look at their past divorce and their past breakups and things like that, Sarah and Xander get as heated as they are passionate. So it’s definitely going to be interesting to see his reaction.”

Days of Our Lives head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford took over from Ron Carlivati in July 2024.

After months of building fan anticipation and excitement, the writers’ stories will finally arrive next Wednesday, April 23, 2025.  Speaking of this transition, Godfrey excitedly teased, “What I’ve really loved and discussed with Janet Spellman-Drucker  (Executive Producer) and the new writers, and what you’ll really notice in the stories to come, is the strength of all these female characters on the show.

They’re not these meek or apologetic women. They’re definitely very strong. I adore the direction that they’ve taken Sarah.”
