Gilbert Arenas Offers $100K Challenge to Kai Cenat After Mike Tyson-Jake Paul Fight
The highly-publicized Mike Tyson vs.
Jake Paul fight sparked widespread debate, with many branding it a “cash grab” that allegedly tarnished Tyson’s legendary reputation.
Amid the buzz, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas joined the conversation, proposing his own twist: losing a 1-on-1 basketball challenge to internet sensation Kai Cenat for $100K.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Gil’s Arena, Arenas discussed the idea of taking a deliberate loss for money.
Referring to Tyson’s reported $20 million earnings despite losing to Paul, Arenas confidently announced:
“If Kai [Cenat] wanna play me 1-on-1 for $100K, I lost!”
Legacy vs. Payday
Arenas’ comments came after ex-NBA player Brandon Jennings criticized Tyson’s fight loss, claiming it damaged his legacy.
Arenas countered by arguing that participating in a gimmick event for financial gain doesn’t harm a legacy already cemented by prior achievements.
The 3-time NBA All-Star even suggested losing to Cenat—an entertainer with no professional basketball experience—if it meant securing the six-figure payday.
Arenas’ Competitive Family Legacy
Outside the hypothetical match, Arenas’ family continues to shine athletically.
His 15-year-old daughter, Hamiley Arenas, made waves during her high school debut, scoring an impressive 27 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists for Notre Dame High School.
Meanwhile, his elder daughter, Izela, has already entered collegiate basketball with the Louisville Cardinals, and his son Alijah is a five-star prospect in junior basketball.
Arenas’ lighthearted $100K challenge reflects his personality, but his family’s achievements ensure the Arenas legacy remains strong both on and off the court.
