The Denver Nuggets haven’t quite clicked this year yet. Having lost their opening match against the Clippers, the Nuggets recorded back-to-back wins.
Such a turnaround made their fans hopeful for a potential playoff run this year.
Unfortunately, their hopes have been heavily dashed as the Nuggets have once again slumped to a two-match losing streak.
In their recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nuggets lost 116-119 in a keenly contested matchup.
However, apart from the compelling finish, another incident became the highlight of the evening.
Nuggets youngster Christian Braun and Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert got involved in a heated exchange that turned into a physical altercation.
In a shocking turn of events, a recent clip showed Rudy Gobert visibly shaken after he spotted Russell Westbrook sprinting towards him.
Well, the incident happened with 5:13 left on the clock in the fourth quarter.
It was at this moment that Braun received a pass from Westbrook.
Facing the Four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert, Braun showed his class.
In an impeccable display of finesse, Braun leaped over Gobert to land a powerful two-handed dunk.
Thankfully, before Westbrook could step in, security personnel intervened and pacified the heated situation.
Meanwhile, despite Westbrook’s daunting preening, many have opined that it is time for the NBA icon to call it a day.
NBA Scout Teases Russell Westbrook’s Retirement
Russell Westbrook is currently in his 17th NBA season.
Over the years, Westbrook has been monumental in winning his team countless games.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said this year.
Following a sorry show from the Nuggets early on, the star point guard’s form is being scrutinized heavily.
Adding more fuel to the fire, an anonymous NBA scout proposed the idea of Westbrook calling it quits.
In a recent interaction with Hoops Wire, the scout claimed Westbrook can’t shoot and needs to retire.
Thus, with the chips looking down on Russell Westbrook, it will be interesting to see whether he can turn things around.
