Josh Allen injury: Buffalo Bills quarterback evaluated after head bounces off turf
Allen was brought down by his legs and his head bounced off the turf after throwing an incomplete pass in the fourth quarter.
The Bills defense recovered a strip sack on C.J.
Stroud at the Texans’ 15-yard line while Allen was being looked. Backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky came in for one play, handing the ball to James Cook for no gain.
Allen returned from the tent, put his helmet on and went back into the game.
He threw two incompletions and Tyler Bass made a 33-yard field goal to tie the game at 20-20 with 3:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Allen said after the game that an independent certified athletic trainer who serves as a spotter in the booth called for him to be checked for a concussion.
“Big shot to the chest. Rolled my ankle,” Allen told reporters after the game.
“They flagged me for hitting my head, but felt good enough to go back in.”
It’s Allen’s second straight week with an injury scare.
He was slow to get up after losing a fumble against the Baltimore Ravens.
Allen said after the loss to Baltimore that he aggravated his lower back hitting the ground but he’d be fine.
