Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has allayed fears over a serious injury to Patrick Mahomes.
And the QB himself is addressing the situation as well.
The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 13-1 with a 21-7 win over the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field.
but that isn’t where the headlines are.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a lower leg injury as he was caught awkwardly in a tackle in the second half.
He was seen limping straight after, and was forced off the ground.
Backup quarterback Carson Wentz then came into the game with Mahomes on the sidelines .
as the entire NFL world waits to see the outcome of No. 15’s injury.
Now, head coach Andy Reid has given a somewhat positive update on his star quarterback.
“It’s not broken,” Reid said.
“That’s what I can tell you.
I’m just going to see how it goes.
It’ll literally be day-to-day as we go forward.
I don’t know how much swelling he has or any of that.
He probably could have gone back in [the game].”
And Mahomes also seems optimistic about the situation, saying he’s preparing for an intense week of rehab.
But now comes the bigger questions for Reid and the Chiefs.
What will they do with Mahomes for the season’s final three games, starting with Saturday’s game against the Houston Texans.
And can they win with Wentz?

“I thought the smart decision we talked about was to put Carson in,” Mahomes said.
“He’s played a lot of football, and he finished the game well .
I have a lot of trust in Carson, too.
He’s played football and he’s won football games.
[They] put him out there, and I thought he did a great job moving the football and running time off the clock and putting us in position to win the football game.”
Nevertheless, there will be worry for Mahomes over the next few days as maybe the one thing that can derail Kansas City’s three-peat is an injured Mahomes.
