Over the past couple of seasons, the NFL has expanded its schedule to include Christmas and Black Friday games. This season, the Kansas City Chiefs will participate in those games.

 

On Black Friday, the Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

These division rivals faced off in Week 8 with the Chiefs coming out on top 27-20.

Although the game only ended in a seven-point margin the Chiefs controlled from start to finish.

More of the same can be expected on Friday.

especially since Raiders starting quarterback Gardner Minshew suffered a broken collarbone in Week 12.

Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton spoke to the media on Monday about facing a different Raiders quarterback on Black Friday.

 

“Then, they (Las Vegas Raiders) have a new quarterback as well .

I think the quarterback (Raiders QB Gardner Minshew) got hurt as well so we have to figure out where we’re going to go in that direction.

There’s a lot of moving parts but I think that’s the biggest challenge going into this week.””

The Raiders have two options to start at quarterback on Friday.

Aidan O’Connell or Desmond Ridder. O’Connell started both games against the Chiefs in his rookie season last year.

O’Connell recorded a 59.2% (32/54) completion percentage for 310 yards and one touchdown in those starts.

Ridder, on the other hand, has yet to play the Chiefs in his career.

Despite that, Ridder has struggled as an NFL starting quarterback.

and going up against a Steve Spagnuolo defense for the first time is a challenge even when they have struggled.

Nevertheless, whichever quarterback the Chiefs face, preparing for them on a short week is never easy.

With that being said, though, it would take a miracle for the Raiders to upset the Chiefs on Black Friday.
