“Let’s call a spade a spade: (This will be the) best team in football against the worst team in football.” .
Raiders coach Antonio Pierce on facing the Chiefs on “Black Friday.”
Antonio Pierce, it seems, is beyond giving his team a pep talk.
There are a collection of teams in the NFL standings basement.
and right now there with the worst of them are the 2-9 Las Vegas Raiders, who are teed up to play the Kansas City Chiefs – the two-time defending Super Bowl champs .
and arguably the league’s best team – in a national TV game on “Black Friday.”
And Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce cannot lie about what might be in front of his beleaguered club.
“Let’s call a spade a spade: (This will be the) best team in football against the worst team in football.
Let’s change the narrative,” the first-year full-time coach said.

Is this some sort of reverse psychology.
A way to play possum against the heavily favored Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs.
Or is Pierce simply stating a brutally frank truth about.
“the best team in football against the worst team in football” .
which still makes this “the worst pep talk in NFL history”?
The Raiders are currently tied for the worst record in football along with the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars are also 2-9 on the season.
It is surely time to think about tanking and the NFL Draft.
And it’s also a time for honesty. Or criticism. Or gamesmanship.
