After much back-and-forth, primarily from fans and the media, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce finally settled the issue of his NFL future on Thursday.
Multiple sources confirmed that the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end had decided not to retire but to play at least one more year.
The biggest confirmation of Kelce’s decision came via an announcement from his podcast with his brother Jason Kelce. ”
New Heights” posted a hilarious clip of Kelce superimposed on the body of infamous stockbroker Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) in the film “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
The NFL took the announcement as clear confirmation of Kelce’s decision to play on.
which prompted a four-word message from the league.
“Straight from the source,” the NFL posted on Instagram, sharing the message from “New Heights.”
As expected, the major news drew all sorts of reactions from NFL fans on social media.
“He’s coming back with a vengeance!!!! Beast mode Trav in the house” a comment on Instagram read.
“Today’s a good day,” a supporter wrote.
“Of course he is going for 13. That’s Tays number.
She wouldn’t have let him bail before then ,” a Taylor Swift fan said, noting that the No. 13 has been known to hold significance for Kelce’s girlfriend.

Not everyone was excited about the news, though.
“Bro we don’t care fr ”
“not even the best TE in the division ”
“Woahhhhhh the announcement no one’s been waiting for! One of the stories of all time!”
While Chiefs fans and Swifties alike have been rejoicing over the big news.
many NFL supporters are less delighted with this development.
At this point in his career, there’s no denying that Kelce is one of the greatest tight ends to ever do it.
and this level of fame does come with its fair share of haters and naysayers.
