Is Taylor Sending a Message About Travis With Her Latest Merch Drop?

If you’ve been wondering why Taylor Swift has been missing Kansas City Chiefs games, and the anonymous tabloid sources saying everything is fine — She’s just busy right now — didn’t convince you, perhaps a Swiftian Easter egg will assuage your anxiety about the up-and-coming actor and the pop star.

Yesterday, Swift released a new batch of merch under the title The Greatest in the League Collection. The name is lifted from the lyrics of “The Alchemy” from The Tortured Poets Department, where she sings about touchdowns, trophies, blokes on benches, and the rush of new love. Swifties were quick to point out another clue tying the league merch to Super Bowl champion Kelce: The collection was released on National Boyfriend Day, an absolutely real holiday that everyone, including Swift, surely celebrates each year. Presumably with Travis Kelce.

The merch in question comes right on time for cooler weather, featuring sweatpants and sweatshirts embossed with the TTPD logo or printed with the album title. If you were expecting Kansas City team colors, you’re out of luck: The collection follows the album’s black-and-white color scheme, available in gray, sand, black, and white. Basically Fear of God Essentials, the monochromatic, oversize neutral-color sweatpants that have been copied everywhere in recent years. Perhaps Travis has his own set of TTPD sweats. Though, as we’ve discovered, this Taylor era doesn’t offer his most flattering color palette. He’s more of a “Red” guy.
