Bronze, the son of Patrick Mahomes, receives a unique present from an unusual Chiefs player

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again in the middle of a magical season. A team that has made the Super Bowl in four of the past five seasons, and won three of those Super Bowls, would be expected to let up a bit and start getting complacent.

But with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid keeping everyone accountable, that simply isn’t happening with the Chiefs.

The team just won another game, pushing their record to 10-1, tied for the best in the NFL so far. What makes their record so impressive is the amount of injuries they’ve dealt with.

The team has been without Isiah Pacheco since Week 2 and lost Rashee Rice in Week 4. But even before the season began, they lost their most-anticipated offseason addition, Marquise Brown.

Given this is Brown’s first year in Kansas City, it was a tough situation due to him not having chemistry with Mahomes. The injury kept him from practicing as well, so he hasn’t been able to develop that chemistry in non-game fashion either.

Despite that, the two appear to be friends off the field, as Brown recently showed off a special gift he got for Mahomes’ son, Bronze.

Brown showed off the Bronze-branded tote bag and glass cup. The products are from a company called Out of the Woods, which uses sustainable materials to make all of their products. Brown is likely an investor, a part of his off-field life that he takes pride in.

Brown continues to work hard to get back on the field following his injury. As he eyes a return for the playoffs, Brown shared a video of himself catching passes on the practice field. He seems to be nearing a return, which is great news for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.

Toward the end of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss Sunday, Patrick Mahomes greeted some of his fellow offensive players, giving high-fives and sharing hugs.

But one player — running back Samaje Perine — was noticeably left out despite standing up as Mahomes approached him.

Mahomes greeted JuJu Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown before embracing Isiah Pacheco. Next on the bench was Perine, who stood up, but Mahomes instead approached Travis Kelce, and the two shared a long embrace.

People noticed the apparent snub, and in an Instagram post highlighting video of what happened, many called out Mahomes for a lack of leadership.

However, according to the New York Post, Perine commented on the post and said people were making something out of nothing.

“Lol I actually stood up to untie my pants string, no one blamed anybody,” Perine commented. “It’s not that deep.”

Perine, third on the running back depth chart behind Kareem Hunt and Pacheco, caught a pass from Mahomes in the AFC championship against the Buffalo Bills, which sealed their victory and sent them to their third straight Super Bowl.

He was used mainly in the pass game out of the backfield, catching 28 passes for 322 yards and one touchdown for the Chiefs during the regular season. He also had 92 rushing yards on 20 carries with a score.

In the 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Perine had just one carry for eight yards.

The loss halted the Chiefs’ quest for a three-peat, which would have been the first in Super Bowl history.

It’s the Eagles’ second Lombardi Trophy after winning the 2018 Super Bowl.

Sunday’s game was a rematch of the Super Bowl two years ago, which the Chiefs won, 38-35.
