Patrick Beverley, who began his NBA journey as the 42nd overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, has faced challenges similar to those of Bronny James, LeBron James’ son. Like Bronny, Beverley spent part of his rookie season balancing time between the Lakers and their NBA G League affiliate, balancing the difficulties of fitting into the league.
On a recent episode of The Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley revealed the tough moments he experienced as a rookie, including playful hazing from LeBron James himself. Beverley, a player from the Israel League, humorously described how LeBron tested him with small but challenging tasks when he was asked about his treatment of Bronny.
“He’s the one I would cuff. All because your father made me — Oh, the s**t Bron had me doing was wild. I’m talking about, ‘Pat, go get me a Gatorade.’ ‘Cool.’ I come with a red. Everyone likes red. He said, ‘No, I don’t like that color.’ I come back, ‘Okay, cool.’ The second option is blue. Everybody likes blue. ‘No, I don’t like blue, Pat, and I don’t like it cold,” Beverly said.
NBA fans were stunned and thrilled to hear LeBron’s treatment of Beverly in his rookie season. Some fans even praised LeBron’s acts as the GOAT treatment for leading the way for a rookie.

Patrick Beverley Defends The Bucks Amid Early Season Criticism
The Milwaukee Bucks have advanced to the NBA Cup final, proving doubters wrong after a shaky start to the season. On a recent episode of his podcast, Beverley called out critics who were quick to dismiss the Bucks. The former Bucks star slammed the criticism of his former team based on their early struggles.
“I haven’t heard any Doc Rivers slander at all lately. I hear zero talk about the Milwaukee Bucks and how they’re not good while they’ve been missing Khris Middleton for damn near the whole season,” Beverly said.
The Bucks are now 14-11 this season. They will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.
