A few weeks later, he wasn’t rich. He wasn’t famous, but he had a room again, a warm place to play, and people who heard him.

Sometimes when he plays now, he still closes his eyes the same way. Not because he’s imagining a crowd, but because once when he felt completely invisible, someone stopped behind him and listened.
