The Chiefs win over the Texans caused many fans to take to social media to express their disagreement with a key call and to suggest that the “fix is in,” that the NFL favors the Chiefs, and that the league is following some sort of secret script.

 

 

The Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have a knack for taking advantage of their breaks.

But yes, their critics would argue, they sure do get ’em.

A second-quarter play in what would be a 27-19 Chiefs win over the Houston Texans in a Saturday.

showcase game appeared to victimize Mahomes as Houston thought it was forcing a fumble and returning it for a touchdown …

But the perspective on the possible game-changing play didn’t last long.

with the refs overturning the fumble and adding a penalty on the Texans – a call that didn’t please Chiefs-hating fans on social media.

Mahomes did his usual damage in this game as KC moved to an impressive 14-1, the best mark in the NFL.

He opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter despite the fact that he was playing on a sprained ankle.

The Texans stuck with KC and scored twice to take a 10-7 lead.

and then appeared to be adding to it when they put the heat Mahomes, forcing a fumble and returning the loose ball for a touchdown.

 

 

But officials reviewed the play and ruled that Mahomes’ arm was already moving forward.

So no fumble. And furthermore, the zebras decided that Mahomes was hit in the head during the pass rush.

So, instead of adding to their lead, the Texans saw the Chiefs keep the ball and later drive for a touchdown.

And yes, many fans took to social media to express their disagreement with the call .

and to suggest that the “fix is in,” that the NFL favors the Chiefs.

and that the league is following some sort of secret script.

Wrote one fan: “The Refs to the rescue! This decision changed the outcome of the first half.

Mahomes clearly had no control of the ball when his arm moved forward.”

We’re not sure how “clear” any of this is.

But there is a growing chorus of NFL watchers who think the league loves Mahomes and the Chiefs.

which Chiefs fans probably don’t find all that troubling.
