Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes Turn Heads at Lakers-Mavericks Game
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is officially preparing for the 2025 NFL season by kicking off his annual throwing sessions near his home in Texas on April 9.
With over two weeks before the Chiefs start their offseason workout program, Mahomes likes to get a head start on building chemistry and timing with his playmakers.
In a video posted by Preston Smith on Instagram, the three-time Super Bowl MVP, along with backup quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Bailey Zappe, threw to Skyy Moore, Hollywood Brown, Nikko Remigio, Jared Wiley, Noah Gray, Robert Tonyan Jr., and Justyn Ross.
After the session, Mahomes, who owns a seven-bedroom mansion in Westlake, made his way to the American Airlines Arena with his wife, Brittany Mahomes. Leaving their three kids at home, they sat court side as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Dallas Mavericks.
Of course, this wasn’t just another Mavericks game. This matchup marked Luka Doncic’s first game back in Dallas since the Mavericks stunned the NBA world by trading him to the Lakers in February.
Mahomes, a big Mavs fan, couldn’t believe the news when it broke. He posted on X, ‘Wait what?” before adding, “I’m sick rn….”
Before the game started, the Mavericks played a tribute video for Doncic’s return that brought the five-time NBA All-Star break down in tears. Everyone in attendance received a t-shirt that read “thank you for everything” in Slovenian.
Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, who pulled the trigger on the trade, attended the Lakers-Mavericks showdown on Wednesday night. Fans made sure he felt their wrath by chanting “Fire Nico” as Doncic went off with a season-high 45 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The Lakers defeated the Mavericks 112-97. Doncic received a standing ovation from the crowd as checked out of the game in the fourth quarter. He shared embraces with Mahomes and former Mavericks principal owner Mark Cuban.
