Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand delivered another big-time postseason moment on Friday night, and his mom nearly stole the spotlight from the veteran winger.
In Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers forward scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to tie the series against the Edmonton Oilers 1–1.
The Sportsnet broadcast of the game captured Lynn Marchand, Brad’s mother, screaming with joy moments after her son buried the 2OT winner. Her face turned red with excitement as she threw her hands up, clapped, and yelled with emotion.

The NHL shared the clip on X, captioned, “Brad Marchand’s mom was LOVING her son’s double OT winner #StanleyCup.”
Marchand’s goal came 8:04 into the second overtime, when he took a between-the-lines pass from Anton Lundell and beat Stuart Skinner on the backhand.
It was Marchand’s second goal of the night and his 10th career tally in a Stanley Cup Final — the most among active NHL players.
His first goal, a shorthanded breakaway in the second period, gave Florida a 4-3 lead that lasted until there were just under 18 seconds in regulation when Edmonton tied the game at 4-4.

When asked postgame how his mom handles these moments, Marchand didn’t hesitate and gave reporters a hilarious answer.
“She’s one you need to put a muzzle on,” Marchand said. “She gets pretty amped up at the games.”
The 5–4 win in Edmonton secured Florida a split and gave the defending champions home-ice advantage as the series shifts to Sunrise, FL, for Games 3 and 4 starting on Monday.
