The 2024 NFL regular season is officially in the books, meaning the Philadelphia Eagles can now focus on their march toward Super Bowl LIX.
After finishing atop the NFC East with a 14-3 record, the Eagles will open the postseason with Sunday’s wild-card showdown against the Green Bay Packers at Lincoln Financial Field. The Packers are a legitimate playoff threat after going 11-6 and boast a ton of experience after reaching the Division Round or farther in four of the five previous postseasons.
Needless to say, the Packers won’t go down without a fight this weekend.
Although overcoming the visitors won’t be easy, the Eagles’ odds of winning just skyrocketed following the latest injury news out of Green Bay. Eagles vs Packers Injury News: WR Christian Watson Reportedly Tears ACL NFL insider lan Rapoport has revealed that Packers wideout Christian Watson likely tore his ACL during Week 18’s 24-22 loss to the Chicago Bears. Rapoport added that there’s a possibility that Watson could miss the start of the 2025 campaign, effectively ruling him out of the current postseason. “A frustrating reality for that talented pass-catcher,” the insider added.
Watson suffered his non-contract injury while running a route during the second quarter.
The former North Dakota State Bison couldn’t stand on his own power and needed to be carted off the field, ruling him out of the remainder of the contest while putting his outlook in jeopardy.
Injuries have plagued Watson throughout his young NFL career, forcing him to miss 13 of a possible 51 games-including eight during the 2023 campaign.
It looked like he had finally put those injuries behind him this season, tallying a career-high 620 receiving yards while also finding t games.
zone twice on 29 receptions in 15 Although you never want to wish an injury on another player, the Packers are likely breathing a sigh of relief knowing that they won’t have to guard Watson. The former 2022 second-rounder has big-play potential despite not seeing a ton of opportunities this season, proven by his personal-best 21.4 yards per reception.
It’s also worth noting that the Packers barely play above-.500 football when Watson is absent, proven by their 7-6 record (53.8%) in the 13 games he’s missed so far.
The Eagles will head into this weekend’s playoff action looking to repeat their season-opening performance against the Packers.
The NFC contenders clashed in Brazil back in Week 1, resulting in a 34-29 win for Philadelphia as it held Watson to 13 yards and a touchdown on three catches.
Fortunately, Sunday’s outlook already looks promising. The Eagles are projected to advance to the Division Round as FanDuel Sportsbook lists them as the 4.5-point home favorites over the Packers to begin the week.
Eagles-Packers Ticket Prices Reach Massive Heights for Wild Card Showdown
Ticket prices at the Linc are setting the high-water mark for NFL Playoff matchups this week.

It doesn’t feel like a biased claim to state that Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles vs. Green Bay Packers matchup is the most exciting game on the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend slate. The two teams combined for 25 wins this season (the most of any matchup) and the showdown has a relatively tight 4.5-point spread, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
The economics of the situation also seem to reflect fans agreeing about the quality of this game. According to ticket price data from StubHub, Eagles-Packers at Lincoln Financial Field is the most expensive game to get into this weekend.
Eagles-Packers Ticket Prices: Highest of Wild Card Weekend
Simply getting in the door at the Linc for Eagles-Packers, for a standing-room-only ticket, will run you a minimum of $125 as of Thursday afternoon. Four of the other five matchups of the week have minimum ticket prices below $100, and the closest to the Eagles is a $111 minimum for Ravens-Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium. But $111 in Baltimore will get you an actual seat. In Philly, you’d have to jump up to $154 the cheapest actual seat, which happens to be in the 12th row of the third deck.
Looking to splurge a little? The cheapest single ticket below the upper bowl is coming in at $229 (and that one’s a pretty undesirable end-zone section in the second deck).
There are 14 tickets to the game listed at north of $2,000 (good luck selling those ones), and another 76 listed for between $1,000 and $2,000.
And if you’ve got faith in your Birds and are already thinking of Divisional Round tickets, don’t think that acting early is going to get you any crazy deals. Standing-room-only tickets are already listed at a minimum of $208, with the cheapest actual seat being listed at $278.
The Eagles are the hottest show in town and expect ticket prices to continue to soar through the postseason. If the Detroit Lions lose and the Eagles host the NFC Championship, prices could get really crazy.

Eagles Legend Claims Wild Card Game vs. Packers Will Be a ‘Blowout’
Former Eagles running back Darren Sproles made a bold prediction on the Kay Adams Show.
By Jovan Alford

After a tremendous regular season that saw the Philadelphia Eagles win 14 games, the Eagles will open up the postseason on Sunday afternoon against the Green Bay Packers on the Super Wild Card Weekend.
It is the second time these two teams will play each other this season. In Week 1, the Eagles beat the Packers 34-29 in Brazil, behind a three-touchdown performance from star running back Saquon Barkley.
Philadelphia has held serve at home this season, going 8-1 at Lincoln Financial Field. For the Eagles to take down the Packers on Sunday, they’ll need the home crowd behind them. Green Bay is familiar with being the seventh seed as they defeated the Dallas Cowboys last year in the playoffs.
That said, one Eagles legend isn’t phased by Green Bay and made a bold prediction on the Kay Adams Show.
Former Eagles running back Darren Sproles said “It’s going to be a blowout,” when asked by Adams how Sunday’s playoff game will go.
Sproles’ response caught Adams off guard as the former Eagle mentioned that the game would be at the Linc. Philadelphia fans would love for Sunday’s game to be a blowout, but anything can happen in the playoffs.
When these two teams played each other in Week 1, Green Bay jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Eagles battled back scoring 17 points in the second quarter. However, the Pack still had a 19-17 lead at the half.
But to the Eagles’ credit, they woke up in the second half. The Eagles outscored the Packers, 17-10 in the final two quarters. Philadelphia needs another huge game from Barkley and for Hurts to take care of the ball, which was an issue in the opener.
If the Eagles do those things on offense, along with the defense limiting explosive plays on the ground and in the passing game, they will give themselves a chance to advance to the next round.
