Caitlin Clark already coaching up Team WNBA 🙌

CC said the coach wanted to put her back in the game as Arike Ogunbowale was absolutely CRUSHING IT! But CC said no! That my friends is a TEAM player! She could have gone in a broken the assist record, but that could have cost the rhythm of Arike Ogunbowale!

Caitlin Clark’s New Nickname From WNBA All-Star MVP Says It All

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale teamed up for the first time over the past weekend at the 2024 WNBA All-Star game, leading Team WNBA to a surprising 117-109 victory over Team USA.

On Tuesday, Clark made a social media post highlighting her first WNBA All-Star appearance with the caption: “First WNBA All-Star.”

Ogunbowale commented on the post with a brand new nickname for Clark that says everything about what the former Iowa Hawkeyes star has brought and will bring to the WNBA, including record attendance and merchandise sales numbers.

“tha future,” Ogunbowale said with a shining star emoji.

Ogunbowale dominated the All-Star game. She notched 34 points on 10 of 20 shooting, three rebounds, and six assists. Her 34 points broke the record for most points scored in a single WNBA All-Star game. This performance also gave Ogunbowale the All-Star MVP award.

Clark also made history by recording the most assists by a rookie in a WNBA All-Star game with ten.

Ogunbowale, like Clark, was snubbed from Team USA but showed her worth in the All-Star game by beating the very same team that snubbed her.

In the 2024 season, Ogunbowale, a former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star, is averaging 22.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. She is third in the league in scoring this season.
