Caitlin Clark Fans STUNNED as DiJonai Carrington LIES About Brutal Eye Poke Incident (UNBELIEVABLE)!

In Game 1 of the first-round playoff series between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun, Sun guard DiJonai Carrington tried to swipe at the ball and poked Clark in the eye. The incident quickly set social media ablaze, with some accusing Carrington of doing it intentionally.

The next day, both players confirmed it wasn’t an intentional act. During Carrington’s media availability, however, USA Today reporter Christine Brennan asked her if she meant to hit Clark in the eye. Although Carrington denied it, Brennan followed up that question by asking if she and Sun teammate Marina Mabrey later laughed about the incident. The broadcast showed the two smiling about something later in the game.

“No,” Carrington said. “I just told you I didn’t even know I hit her, so I can’t laugh about something I didn’t know happened.”

WNBA Makes DiJonai Carrington Announcement Before Caitlin Clark Rematch

As the Connecticut Sun look to close their first-round WNBA playoff series on Wednesday, the league released an announcement concerning Sun guard DiJonai Carrington.

Carrington, who has been with the Sun since 2021, was named the recipient of the Most Improved Player award given by the league.

The WNBA announced the news with a post on X: “From rising star to unstoppable force.”

She significantly increased her season totals from last season. In 2023, Carrington averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 1.3 assists per game. Fast forward to the 2024 season, Carrington ended the regular season averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.6 assists per game.

In 2024, Carrington posted a career-high in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, field goals, 3-pointers and free throws made.

While playing alongside stars Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner, Carrington helped the Sun to a 28-12 record and the third seed in the WNBA playoffs.

The Sun lead Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever 1-0 in a best-of-three series. In Game 1, Carrington recorded 14 points, five rebounds and three assists while shooting 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 6-of-12 from the field.

Carrington showcased her defensive prowess in Game 1, holding Clark, one of the most prolific scorers in the WNBA, to 11 points. The rookie shot 2-of-13 from 3-point range and 4-of-17 from the field.

Bonner and Carrington had the defensive assignment on Clark for much of the game and were certainly successful.

The Sun look to close the series on Wednesday, welcoming Clark and the Fever back to Connecticut in what is an elimination game for Indiana.
