Caitlin Clark simply cannot catch a break.
Indiana Fever won last night’s game against the Connecticut Sun, but the game came at a cost. Clark may have suffered her third injury of the season.
Star guard Caitlin Clark appeared to suffer a groin injury, potentially the same one that sidelined her earlier this season, with less than a minute to go in the game. The timing couldn’t be worse, with playoff positioning on the line and All-Star weekend just days away.
With less than a minute remaining in the game, Clark appeared to injure herself while passing to teammate Kelsey Mitchell. As a timeout was called, Clark was almost in tears as she dealt with the injury. She walked gingerly up the court and rested her head against the basket stanchion before returning to the bench.
Following the game, Clark’s brother Colin took aim at the officials in a since-deleted tweet.
Colin blamed the referees for the injury, pointing to what many believe is excessive physical play directed at the Indiana star.

Of course, the referees couldn’t have directly contributed to Caitlin Clark’s injury.
Colin Clark is seemingly referring to the referees allowing his sister to be guarded overly physically.

While the Indiana Fever just improved to 12-10 on the 2025 WNBA regular season after their win over the Connecticut Sun, it’s going to feel like a defeat to fans everywhere.
This is because Clark appeared to injure her groin with less than a minute in the game. She was making a pass to teammate Kelsey Mitchell when she appeared to injure herself.
Clark has missed nine regular-season games and Indiana’s historic WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final due to two separate muscle injuries in her left leg.
The Fever play again on Wednesday against the New York Liberty.
Caitlin Clark is also scheduled to play a big role in WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis as a participant in the 3-Point Contest and captain of “Team Clark” in the All-Star Game.
