Caitlin Clark Makes Unexpected Admission About Aliyah Boston

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark recalled a moment with her teammate.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark made WNBA history several different ways in her rookie season. Selected first overall by Indiana in the 2024 WNBA draft, Clark entered the league with high expectations.

Breaking the WNBA’s single-season assists record while putting up unprecedented statistical averages (19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 8.4 assists), Clark led Indiana to its first playoff appearance since 2016.

One of the most exclusive ways Clark made history in her WNBA rookie season was by recording two triple-doubles. Clark’s first triple-double was the only by a rookie in WNBA history, and her second made her just the fifth player with more than one in a season.

In an interview shared by the Fever’s social media accounts, Clark made an unexpected admission about her second triple-double, saying Aliyah Boston allowed her to get the rebound.

“Shoutout to AB,” Clark said. “She kind of let me get that rebound. But I was lucky because it bounced right in my direction, so I had to get it.”

Boston averaged 8.9 rebounds in 40 games for Indiana. That mark ranked seventh in the WNBA, making it two-straight seasons Boston finished top-10 in rebounds per game.

Clark finished second among guards in rebounds per game, trailing only Connecticut Sun G/F DeWanna Bonner.

While Boston may have allowed Clark to grab that historic 10th rebound against Los Angeles, the achievement is still impressive. Clark had four games with at least 10 rebounds in her rookie season.

Clark’s next triple-double will move her into a tie with Candace Parker for third on the all-time list.
