Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin has had quite the year.
The former Iowa Hawkeye never expected to get selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Yet, the Aces decided to select her in the second round.
Then it was up to Martin to make the team. And she ended up being just one of a few second round picks to do so.
Now Martin has carved out a role for herself on the two-time defending WNBA champions.
Because of this early success, Martin seems to have ensured a future for herself in the WNBA.
And a video from the Aces’ X account Thursday reveals one of Martin’s major life goals.

“I want to buy a house one day, so that is going to be really important for me,” Martin said when asked about the importance of saving money.
While buying a house is a major life goal for many people, Martin could not have imagined that she’d work toward doing so while playing her beloved sport of basketball just one year ago.
Martin continues to be one of the most wholesome young players in the entire WNBA.
