Chennedy Carter’s Disturbing Past Has WNBA Fans Concerned For WNBA Players.
Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter has been the topic of much discussion over the past few days, as a result of her cheap shot on Caitlin Clark during the Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever on Saturday.
Some newer WNBA fans unaware about Carter’s concerning WNBA history, which may help explain why she lashed out at Clark.
Carter was selected with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream. She was then suspended by the Dream midway through her 2021 season, because she, “stayed in the locker room for the second half of the team’s game against the Aces,” according to a report.
“Following the game, Carter approached [teammate Courtney] Williams about playing time and suggested she wanted to fight her teammate,” the report adds.
Carter was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks soon after this incident occurred. She was then released by Los Angeles after just 24 games before being, “benched for poor conduct during the season.”
