Taylor Swift Celebrates 35th Birthday with New Content for Fans: TS Eras Archive and More
On Friday, December 13, Taylor Swift marked her 35th birthday in a unique way, opting not to post on her personal social media accounts. Instead, her official team, known as Taylor Nation, took the opportunity to engage fans by directing them to a newly launched section on Swift’s website dedicated to archiving material from her various musical eras.
The TS Eras Archive allows fans to explore a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes content from Swift’s music videos. By clicking on a photo banner representing the era they wish to explore, fans can access newly uploaded clips from popular music videos such as “Anti-Hero,” “Karma,” and “Fortnight,” all of which were made available on YouTube as of December 13.
One of the standout moments from the “Karma” clip features a silver statue version of Swift, who humorously quips, “I have been the architect of my own chaos that I currently live in. I have no idea how many hundreds of showers it’s gonna take to get this off.” This playful commentary reflects Swift’s hands-on approach to her work, showcasing her personality and style as a director.
In addition to being the star of her music videos, Swift has also taken on the role of director, boasting ten directorial credits to her name, including nine music videos and the acclaimed short film “All Too Well: The Short Film.” Excitingly, it was announced in December 2022 that Swift will make her feature film directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures, based on an original script she has written.
Many of the behind-the-scenes videos released on her birthday were previously shown at stadiums during The Eras Tour, which concluded in Vancouver on December 8. Swift’s monumental Eras Tour culminated just days before she was honored at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12, where she received ten new awards, solidifying her status as the most-awarded artist in the show’s history. In her acceptance speech video, she expressed her gratitude, stating, “This is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me,” attributing her success to the unwavering support of her fans.
