Minnesota Wild netminder Marc-Andre Fleury dazzled fans on Saturday afternoon by robbing Travis Konecny during the Wild’s tilt against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The most impressive thing about the save was the 40-year-old’s cat-like reflexes in making such an incredible save. Here’s a look at the save:

Following the impressive save, fans took to social media to laud Marc-Andre Fleury’s unbelievable talents even at his age. Here’s a look at what these fans had to say:
“Never retire, Flower. Stay forever,” a fan wrote.
“Wow great save! Has my first NHL game this week and it was awesome!” this fan commented.
“I’m rooting for the Flyers to score here but that save made me jump out of my seat, if I’m being completely honest. Amazing glove save,” another fan remarked.
Other fans took advantage of the opportunity to show their admiration for Marc-Andre Fleury’s skills at 40 years of age. Here’s what these fans wrote:
“That man is 40. Wow,” this fan weighed in.
“Still do it after 20 something years,” this fan posted on X.
“Turned back the clock on that one for sure,” another fan opined.
Fleury’s remarkable save will surely be among this season’s candidates for best save of the year. While it’s still relatively early in the season, Fleury’s stop will be the one to beat.
Marc-Andre Fleury hits major milestone on path to Hall of Fame
This season marks Marc-Andre Fleury’s final NHL campaign. He’s done it all in his career. He’s won three Stanley Cups, a Vezina Trophy and was drafted as a number-one overall pick.
But there was one milestone for Fleury to achieve. On Nov. 22, Fleury moved into third place on the all-time games played by a goaltender. He passed Patrick Roy, who played in 1,029 games.
Fleury, having played in 1033 games as of Dec. 14, joins Roy, Roberto Luongo, and Martin Brodeur as the only netminders to play in 1,000 NHL games or more.
That feat alone puts Fleury on track for the Hall of Fame. But, as if that wasn’t enough, Fleury has 556 wins to his credit, placing him second on the all-time wins list for goalies.
The four-time All-Star has also shut out the highest number of different teams, 28 in total. Fleury achieved that feat in November 2022, when he shut out the Seattle Kraken.
With such an impressive resume, there’s no reason to believe that Fleury will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. However, fans will have to wait a couple of seasons following Fleury’s retirement.
