“MAGA” hats are apparently not welcome at the Arizona Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium; or at least one staff member thought so.

A season ticket holder was forced to throw said item in the trash during the Cards’ Week 2 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday and regrets not putting up more of a fight.

The Cardinals finally learned that they could benefit from targeting rookie Marvin Harrison Jr., who was electric throughout the 41-10 blowout victory, while Kyler Murray had an MVP-type game.

Harrison caught four passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns, with Murray throwing 17-of-21 for 266 yards and four TDs.

The game would have probably been more enjoyable for a certain Arizona Cardinals fan had she not been forced to trash her hat. Susana Rosener told 12News that a security official made her throw the headgear away because politically motivated attire was not allowed.

“I thought [the security guard] was joking,” she relayed. “She said, ‘No political hats or shirts.’”

Susana said she should have refused but knew her husband would be angry if she cost them their season tickets.

“In retrospect, I wish I would have stood my ground,” she added. “I wasn’t sure what the repercussions would be, and my husband would kill me if I did something [to lose] the season tickets.”

The Arizona Cardinals Have Since Apologized For MAGA Hat Incident

The Arizona Cardinals have released a statement in which they claim the security member misunderstood the policy as “MAGA” hats are not on their list of banned items.

“In an isolated incident at Sunday’s game, a stadium security member misunderstood a policy on prohibited items,” the statement read.

“Like most venues, ‘signage, posters, flags, or displays that are….political in nature’ are not permitted. However, that did not apply in this instance.

“Moving forward, we will work to provide clarity to all stadium personnel in these situations. We have also reached out to the individual involved to communicate that their experience was not consistent with our policies and practices and to apologize for that.”

Meanwhile, there is some real hope among Arizona Cardinals fans following Sunday’s display. But they will face a stern test in Week 3, with a wounded Detroit Lions team scheduled to visit.
