WNBA Rookie Angel Reese’s New Nickname Is Turning Heads

Angel Reese secured her first career double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds against the Seattle Storm. She’s already cemented her name as a star in the WNBA. The Chicago Sky may be struggling early in the season, recently suffering a 77-68 loss to the Seattle Storm, but Reese has been a bright spot for the team.

She was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Reese came from the LSU Tigers, where she recently owned the nickname “Bayou Barbie.”

Following her big-time performance against the Storm on Tuesday, Chicago gave her a brand new nickname.

“BIG TIME BARBIEEE,” said the Chicago Sky on X.

The Sky might hold some truth to their statement. Reese is a massive star on and off the court. Fans may have doubted her ability to make an immediate impact in the WNBA, but she’s proving to be one of the most versatile forwards in the league.
