Tom Brady Suggests Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Can Catch Him As GOAT
Most of us think there will never be another Tom Brady.
But one person might disagree with that. And that one person is … Tom Brady.
The resume is incredible and the resume is impeccable. Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion with three MVPs and a mountain of records, and, deflated footballs aside, a fairly pristine reputation to go with it as he’s moved from the field and into the Fox Sports broadcast booth as the No. 1 voice.
And that voice is talking about Patrick Mahomes.
During a conversation with comedian Kevin Hart last weekend at Fanatics Fest, Brady was asked which quarterback from today’s game might possibly duplicate his GOAT-level success.
TB12 has one name.
“I just think Patrick — I love his mentality,” Brady said. “The great players that I’ve played with, Patrick has their mentality. He has the will to win. He’s got a desire every time he takes the field to be a great leader. I listen to what guys say after they win, I listen to what guys say after they lose.
“Everything he says is the right thing.”

Brady added, “He’s got a great coach, great general manager, great ownership and the parts around him.”
This is, as you can imagine, a mutual admiration society. Recall prior to Super Bowl LIX when Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs were getting ready to take on the Philadelphia Eagles and the subject of Brady was broached.
“I have so much respect for Tom, and he’s been someone that’s given me so much advice in my career,” said Mahomes, who has also often referred to Brady as the greatest of all time.
“He is the greatest of all time, and I like being compared to him, but I still have so long that I have to go in my career if you look at the longevity, the consistent greatness that he had every single year,” Mahomes said.
