On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans, 23-14, in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
That also secured a spot for them in the AFC Championship, where they will take on the winner of the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens matchup set for Sunday.
Though the Chiefs ended up winning by two scores, this was no easy game. Going into the fourth quarter, the Texans were on their heels, trailing just 13-12.
Shortly after the clock hit all zeros, the Chiefs’ official X account made their first post, which was a graphic showcasing tight end Travis Kelce and the final score with the caption “FIRST ONE DONE.”
Unlike most of the other playoff teams this weekend, the Chiefs did not play in the wild-card round, earning a bye as the No. 1 seed.
It’s clear that the Chiefs know that an AFC Championship appearance is not the ultimate goal this season. Rather, it’s to win their third straight Super Bowl, which has never been done in NFL history.
They made that goal obvious with another social media post, showcasing that they will be in the conference championship with the caption, “ONE STEP CLOSER.”
If Kansas City wins Super Bowl LIX, it would stake a claim as one of the greatest dynasties the NFL has ever seen.
The New England Patriots, led by head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, played in nine Super Bowls and won six Lombardi trophies over 19 seasons.

Since Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback in 2018, the Chiefs have played in four Super Bowls and won three in six seasons.
