Patrick Mahomes is definitely one of the most well-known quarterbacks in the NFL and is considered to be the GOAT by many. However, it seems like Mahomes is losing the charming hold on NFL fans, according to ESPN analyst Jeremy Fowler. As per a recent vote, Mahomes failed to amass all the first-place votes this year. However, he still leads the list since he got about 60 percent of the votes.

While this number is still pretty impressive, when compared to last year, when Mahomes failed to receive only one first-place vote, the margins are pretty wide. Fowler fears that the gap may widen even more next year and the quarterback may no longer be the most feared in the National Football League.

“Mahomes’ grip on the top spot is loosening slightly. After dominating the voting with back-to-back No. 1 rankings in convincing fashion, Mahomes garnered around 60% of the first-place votes this year, which is still impressive but well short of last year, when he received all but one first-place vote.” Jeremy Fowler stated about Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes’ performance has been thrown into question time and time again, especially after the 2024 NFL season. The quarterback has been scoring vividly, but the colors seem to be less bright than they were in previous seasons. Many NFL analysts feel that this is because of Mahomes’ increasing age and that the quarterback is well past his prime in the league.

Patrick Mahomes’ Spot May Be Taken Over By Josh Allen Soon

While Patrick Mahomes managed to be ranked no. 1 in the quarterback list in ESPN, the no. 2 choice was simply stunning. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen managed to slide into second place, much to the surprise of both NFL fans and analysts.

However, this is definitely not a case for surprise since Josh Allen has been making career-defining moves with the Buffalo Bills in his time there. When compared to Mahomes, Allen has not been fortunate to play with a team as well-equipped as the Chiefs on all ends.

According to many NFL fans, Patrick Mahomes’ position may slide downward while Josh Allen soon moves into no.1 spot. While Allen is indeed a talented player, it is also true that he has never won a Super Bowl ring with the Bills. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes has won three with the Chiefs and is predicted to add another soon enough.
