The Kansas City Chiefs are rolling against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, leading 21-0 at halftime.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was excellent through the first two quarters of the game, completing 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 208 yards and three touchdowns — two of which went to wide receiver Rashee Rice in his first game back from a six-game suspension.
Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense faced a fourth-and-1 play in the first half, and the creativity of head coach Andy Reid was put on full display.
Mahomes attempted to draw the Raiders offside with a hard count before pulling back and shouting an explicit message.
“This [expletive] never [expletive] works, man,” Mahomes said.
Immediately after his trickery, Mahomes took a quick snap and handed it off for a first-down run up the middle.
In addition to his 208 yards through the air, Mahomes also has 28 rushing yards in the first half — continuing his trend of increased rushing production in the 2025 season.
Heading into this matchup against the Raiders, Mahomes had 1,514 yards, 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions on 64.8% passing. The MVP candidate also boasted 222 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
