The debate continues surrounding two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and New England Patriots legend Tom Brady.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy appeared as a guest recently on former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe’s show, Club Shay Shay. The Boston native and longtime Patriots fan gave his take on the debate between the two superstars, siding heavily with Brady.
“No, and it’s an easy answer, the benefit of them meeting head-to-head in the Super Bowl in Tampa Bay, Brady won. AFC Championship at Kansas City, Brady won.” Portnoy said. “If they played, and Brady is at the end of his career, (he) still beat (Patrick Mahomes). Now, he wins seven (Super Bowls) in a row, different story.”
The two players maintain respect for each other well off the football field, but they will continue to be compared to each other for as long as Mahomes plays in Super Bowls. Mahomes is eager to use Brady’s career as a measuring stick to maintain his intensity each season, battling for the ultimate prize.
