In the latest episode of The Late Show, actress Emily Blunt took part in the “Colbert Questionert” — a rapid-fire set of 15 specially crafted questions designed to dig deep and reveal the true personality of the guest. Hosted by Stephen Colbert, Emily shared many entertaining, heartfelt, and thoughtful insights about her life.

At the start, when asked about her favorite sandwich, Emily didn’t hesitate to pick the Cuban sandwich, describing its key ingredients: pork, ham, mayo, pickles, and a bit of spice, with potato chips on the side. Stephen joked that it really contains both pork and ham — making it all the more delicious.

When asked what item she should throw out, Emily revealed an old royal blue velvet jacket that she wore on her first date with her husband, John Krasinski. Though she admitted it’s a “terrible” jacket, she keeps it for sentimental reasons.

One of the more humorous questions asked about the scariest animal. Emily was honest in saying she’s terrified of cockroaches, especially after dealing with an infestation while staying in Atlanta for 11 weeks. This story brought laughter from Stephen and the audience.

Emily also got a bit more serious when asked about what she thinks happens after death. She said, “I think we go somewhere more beautiful. That’s what I tell myself. I hope. I want that.” Though a little shy about the answer, her hope and optimism about the afterlife shone through.

In the fruit category, she chose apples over oranges, and when asked about her favorite smell, Emily warmly mentioned the sweet scent of her children when they wake up in the morning. She has two kids, aged six and eight, and admitted that this wonderful scent won’t last forever as they grow older.

Regarding the least favorite smell, Emily humorously confessed that men’s bathrooms, especially when she really needs to go and only the men’s is available, are the worst. Stephen agreed that it’s an experience everyone can relate to.

Emily also explained why she prefers aisle seats on airplanes — so she can easily get up to use the restroom without disturbing others — a relatable choice for many travelers.

When asked about preferences between cats, dogs, or horses, she shared she’s allergic to cats, so it’s down to dogs or horses. Ultimately, she picked dogs since it’s easier to avoid allergy meds.

If she could only listen to one song for the rest of her life, Emily chose the timeless and romantic “La Vie En Rose.”

When guessing a number Stephen was thinking of, she guessed 36, which wasn’t correct — adding a light and funny moment to the conversation.

Finally, when asked to describe the rest of her life in five words, Emily expressed hope for a “blissful” future.
