House Oversight Democrats Investigate Removal of Photo From Epstein Files Release

House Oversight Democrats are investigating why a photo was removed from the Department of Justice’s release of the Epstein files.

“I’d first like to ask about this missing photo that my colleague Fallon mentioned earlier, which appeared in the DOJ release and in a post on X by Oversight Democrats,” one lawmaker said. “When you put all of this together, what do you make of it?”

“Well, no one knows exactly what happened,” the witness responded. “But I suspect that someone saw the photo and demanded that it be removed immediately. Only a very small number of people would have the authority to override information that had already been disclosed. And there aren’t many people who would be irrational enough to think that such a removal wouldn’t be noticed. Beyond that, it’s difficult to determine who was responsible.”

The discussion then turned to the law signed by the president on November 19, which requires the Department of Justice to release all unclassified Epstein-related materials within 30 days. Despite that requirement, the DOJ has acknowledged that the release so far is only partial, with more materials still to come.

Many of the documents that have been released are heavily redacted. “I had my colleague print some of them out,” the lawmaker said. “For those who haven’t seen this—this is from the New York grand jury. And here’s another one. And another. They’re all like this.”

In total, 119 pages from the New York grand jury file were released, with extensive redactions throughout.
