WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark was strongly featured in a Nike advertisement during Sunday night’s Super Bowl LIX matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
The ad, which marked Nike’s first Super Bowl commercial in 27 years, featured several of the brand’s most prominent female athletes.
After the commercial appeared on millions of television screens around the world, Clark took to social media with a special post of her own.
“You’ll be told you can’t do it. So do it anyway,” the Indiana Fever point guard wrote as the caption to her Instagram post.
Several prominent figures around the basketball world flooded Clark’s comment section with reactions to this historic Super Bowl ad, including her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Gabbie Marshall.
“SEXYYYYYY,” Marshall wrote in the replies.
Clark and Marshall were college teammates from 2020-24, building an incredible legacy together at the University of Iowa. Though Marshall is now retired from the game of basketball, she’s still overwhelmingly supportive of her friend and former Hawkeyes teammate.
Another one of Clark and Marshall’s former teammates, Kate Martin, also left a comment in the replies.
“Never listen to the haters,” Martin wrote.

Clark notched a historic rookie season as the Fever’s No. 1 overall pick in 2024, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league-leading 8.4 assists per game. After shattering countless all-time league records, she earned a near-unanimous WNBA Rookie of the Year title.
The 23-year-old basketball phenom will return to the WNBA court for her second professional season with Indianapolis in 2025.
