Fans Want Angel Reese’s Teammate To Demand A Trade.

Angel Reese has been getting a lot of extra time in games that she probably hasn’t needed over the past few games and it’s starting to get on fans’ nerves to the point where they want one of her Chicago Sky teammates to demand a trade.

During yesterday’s game between the Sky and the New York Liberty, fans noticed that starting center Kamilla Cardoso was benched for large swaths of the game while Reese was allowed to stay on the court and largely struggled, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 91-76 loss.

For fans who were already critical of Reese padding her stats by trying to make a bucket in the waning moments of a recent game against the Atlanta Dream, this was the last straw. Since yesterday there has been sweltering support for Cardoso to demand a trade from the Sky since the team isn’t giving her decent minutes:

“Kamilla Cardoso is getting benched an entire quarter so another player can go 5/17 on layups, rebound 5 of their misses, and keep a double double streak alive. Never seen anything like it. It’s wild,” one user declared.

“Lemme get this straight, Kamilla Cardoso could be at the ESPYs tonight potentially collecting a major award with her former college teammates, but instead she spent half the night riding the bench because the Sky coach wants to pad Angel’s stats?” wrote another.

“Kamilla Cardoso should request a trade!!! Chicago Sky is only playing her 20 mins. That’s terrible,” a third wrote.

It’s an understandable argument if you feel that the Sky should be prioritizing Cardoso’s development. But by the same token, they might also be trying to give Reese more development too.
