After Saturday’s game, Angel Reese was asked about her reaction following a hard foul from Caitlin Clark.

Reese, visibly still irritated, didn’t mince words.

“It wasn’t even about the foul,” she told reporters postgame. “It was about what she said right before it happened.”

According to Reese, Clark had been trash talking her all game.

“Earlier in the game she looks me dead in the eye and goes, ‘The movie “Heat” is overrated.’ NO context just diabolical cap. That was enough to swing on her right then and there.”

But Clark wasn’t finished.

“She kept going. She said, ‘It’s a film that takes itself way too seriously.’ Then she hits me with, ‘It’s not even a top 5 heist movie from the 90s. Let alone the greatest of all time.’ Like, who even says that mid-game? Then she crossed a line when she said ‘Scarface is mid too and Deniro phones in his entire heat performance’. I’m trying to get a rebound and she’s in my ear disrespecting De Niro and Pacino like they didn’t carry that movie on their damn backs.”

Reese paused and shook her head. “You can say whatever about my game, but you slander Heat in game? A few months after we lose Kilmer? That’s personal. That’s psychological warfare.”

Clark when asked about the accusations replied very matter of factly. “There was nothing malicious with the comments. Scarface is mid and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. Anyone that knows film knows that.”

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have picked up right where they left off. In fact, they’ve actually ramped things up, as the former Iowa Hawkeyes star showed her rival a new side to her in their opening game on Saturday afternoon.

Clark, who found herself on the end of some harsh physicality during her rookie season, spent her offseason getting stronger in the gym and wasted little time sending a message to Reese and any would-be bully, hitting the Sky forward with a hefty foul late in the contest.

The Fever and Sky faced off to open their 2025 WNBA seasons in what was a no-brainer scheduling decision for the league. The game lived up to the hype in terms of the expected feistiness, but it was an easy win for Indiana, who blew Reese and the Sky out 93-58.

With less than five minutes left in the third quarter, Reese was attempting to score from the post after snatching a rebound but was fouled by Clark, who sent her sprawling.

If we’re being honest, Reese’s seemed a bit theatrical as the foul, while hard, didn’t look like it should have sent her flailing the way she did.

She made it very clear that she didn’t appreciate the hit, springing up and snapping on Caitlin, while the referee and other Fever players got between them.

They can’t claim there’s nothing going on after this.

Caitlin Clark Threw Massive Shade At Angel Reese Following Flagrant Foul In Fever-Sky Season Opener

Fans who wanted more beef in the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese feud certainly weren’t disappointed on Saturday.

The well-documented feud between the two stars dates back to the 2023 NCAA women’s basketball championship game, when Angel Reese taunted Caitlin Clark after leading the LSU Tigers to a 102-85 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The WNBA did its fans a huge favor by scheduling Clark’s Indiana Fever against Reese’s Chicago Sky in the season opener. And during the third quarter of Saturday’s contest, tempers flared when Clark committed a flagrant foul against Reese:

After leading the Fever to a 93-58 blowout victory, Caitlin Clark threw some shade at Angel Reese by explaining that it was simply a smart foul to commit.

“It’s just a good take foul, you know? Either Angel gets wide open two points, or we send them to the free throw line. Nothing malicious about it. It’s just a good take foul. Every basketball player knows that.”

Reese made headlines last year when she told reporters that people aren’t following women’s basketball simply because of one person (Clark), but also because of her. When a reporter asked Reese about the comments earlier this week, she declined to respond.

Basketball fans won’t have to wait much longer for the next installment of the Clark-Reese rivalry, as the Sky and Fever will next square off on June 7.
