From mom guilt to a multimillion-dollar gift, Randi Mahomes shares the highs and lows of parenting a superstar
Being the mother of an NFL icon may come with glamour and recognition, but for Randi Mahomes, it also brings moments of quiet guilt and overwhelming emotion.
In a heartfelt video recently shared on social media, Randi opened up about the inner struggles she faces as a parent-particularly one whose life plays out under the public spotlight.
In a joint post with life coach Kirsten Jones, Randi Mahomes shared a deeply personal confession that resonated with parents everywhere. “I do have mom guilt because I really want to be a part of everything,” she admitted.
Her words, spoken with raw honesty, struck a chord with viewers who understand the pressure of wanting to be present for every moment, especially when your children are pursuing big dreams.
Kirsten offered some comforting perspective, saying, “Dealing with mom guilt, it’s not about the quantity of time we spend; it’s the quality. When we’ve recharged and taken time for ourselves, we can be the best version of ourselves for our children.”
Balancing family, football, and motherhood
While Patrick Mahomes is known as the face of the Kansas City Chiefs, Randi is the force behind him-along with his younger brother Jackson and half-sister Mia, who are both carving their own paths in sports. Mia, still in middle school, already juggles basketball and baseball, keeping her mom equally busy off the NFL field.
For Randi, managing her family’s growing athletic commitments, household responsibilities, and her own emotional well-being is a full-time job. And while she always puts her children first, she hasn’t been immune to feeling stretched thin.
But despite the chaos, love remains at the center of it all. And recently, Randi received a deeply meaningful reminder of that love-this time from Patrick himself.
The superstar quarterback surprised his mom with what she described as the “biggest surprise of her life”: a brand-new, multimillion-dollar mansion. Randi took to Instagram to share her joy with her followers, posting photos of the stunning home and expressing heartfelt gratitude.
“Home is where the heart is and my heart is full!” she wrote. “Beyond grateful for my amazing family @patrickmahomes @brittanylynne @jacksonmahomes and my grandbabies for this incredible blessing.”
She continued, “Being a Mom and Grandi is the greatest joy of my life, and I’m so thankful for the love that surrounds me every day. Here’s to new memories, laughter, and love in this beautiful new home!”
Patrick Mahomes’ Family Includes His Pro Athlete Dad & Influencer Brother—What You Didn’t Know About the Mahomes Clan
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is a man on a mission going into Super Bowl LIX. The star player, who has already won three Super Bowls, is looking to join legends like Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw with four and to do it all before his thirtieth birthday. It would not just be a pretty big accomplishment, but leave him in the best position possible to one day catch Tom Brady’s 7 Super Bowl rings, the most of any QB in history.
And if the Kansas City Chiefs are to win their third-straight Super Bowl trophy, they’ll certainly need the best version of Mahomes. And the QB, who has a 17-3 record in the playoffs, is ready for another shot at glory. Besides him, while he tries will be his entire family, which includes his wife Brittany, their three kids, Sterling, 3, Bronze, 2, and Golden, who was born less than a month ago.
But reports indicate the rest of his very large family—or at least most of them, will also be there to support him, including his parents and siblings. But who are the members of Patrick Mahomes’ family? Who are his parents and siblings?
Who are Patrick Mahomes’ parents?
Patrick Mahomes’ parents are Pat Mahomes, a former MLB pitcher, and Randi Martin. The two married in the 90s and divorced in 2006 after having two kids together. They both went on to have other kids after their divorce, leaving Patrick Mahomes with several siblings on both his father’s and mother’s side.
Randi Martin, Patrick Mahomes’ mom, confirmed to Page Six that not only would she be at the Super Bowl supporting her son, but that she would be on “grandma duty,” during the game. “That’s the most excited I will be ’cause all three are gonna be there,” Randi Martin explained. “So, I may or may not watch the game, but I will be holding the grandbabies!”
In an interview with ABC4 in 2020, Martin discussed raising Patrick and her certainty that he was destined for success. “I knew when it came to sports, he was going to be able to reach whatever level he wanted,” she said at the time. “Before his junior year in high school, he came to me that summer wanting to quit football, but I just said you’re going to regret it if you quit.”
His father, Pat Mahomes, who he shares a name with—though his father goes by Pat and the Chiefs QB by Patrick—is also expected to be at the Super Bowl. And it’s fitting, as he’s the reason his now famous son started playing sports in the first place. Pat Mahomes was an MLB pitcher from 1992 to 2003, playing for the Minnesota Twins, the Boston Red Sox, the New York Mets, the Texas Rangers, the Chicago Cubs, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also played in Japan.
At a press conference in 2021, Patrick Mahomes discussed the lessons he’d learned from his father. “I got to see him battle and grind to try to get back there,” he said. “You never know if it’s going to be like this for the rest of your career. So, I try to win as much as possible now and do whatever I can to win multiple Super Bowls.” He added, “I’m at the right point in my career where I can use my voice and people can really, really make an impact in this world. This year, with everything that happened, it prompted me to really be bigger, and then be more than I had been before.”
Who are Patrick Mahomes’ siblings?
Patrick’s parents had another child after him, Jackson Mahomes, who is an influencer. Jackson Mahomes has had several controversies follow him, perhaps the biggest one when he was arrested for aggravated sexual battery. He later pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor count of battery and was sentenced to six months probation. Three felony charges were dropped after the victim refused to cooperate; due to the numerous threats she’d received.
Jackson Mahomes is the only other child of both Pat Mahomes and Randi Martin, but both have gone on to have children afterward. Randi Martin has another child, Mia Randall, who was born in 2011. Meanwhile, Pat Mahomes has another son, Graham Walker, and two daughters, Avery Mahomes and Zoe Mahomes. That means that, in total, Patrick Mahomes has two younger brothers and three younger sisters.
“He’s a little bit more laid back than the others,” Pat Mahomes said of his son in a January 2024 interview with FOX4. “Stays away from the spotlight and goes out and grinds and works. But a very impressive young man.”
Of Patrick Mahomes’ other siblings, Mia is a budding social media star of her own, with her mother Randi posting about her on her social media constantly. She’s involved in various sports, including tennis, volleyball, football, and basketball. Meanwhile, Patrick’s youngest sister, Zoe Mahomes has an Instagram of her own where she showcases her budding soccer skills.
