South Carolina Gamecocks standouts Chloe Kitts and Collin Murray-Boyles have announced that they are donating their entire $10 million in bonuses and sponsorship earnings to fund a homeless shelter project in Camden, South Carolina.
The gift will help build 200 units of transitional housing for families and individuals in need โ marking one of the largest known charitable acts by current college athletes in history.
โWeโve been given a platform โ and itโs our responsibility to do something meaningful with it,โ said Kitts during an emotional press conference. โThereโs no reason people in our own community should go without a safe place to sleep.โ
A Legacy Beyond the Court
Kitts, a rising star on the womenโs basketball team and a national champion, and Murray-Boyles, a powerhouse forward for the menโs squad, have both built enormous followings for their athletic talent. But now, theyโre making headlines for a completely different reason โ putting people over profit.
โWe didnโt grow up with a lot. We remember what struggle feels like,โ Murray-Boyles added. โThis is about dignity. Itโs about giving people a shot.โ
The duoโs $10 million contribution โ a mix of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) earnings, bonuses, and brand sponsorships โ will fully fund the shelterโs construction, staffing, and operations for the next five years.

The Community Reacts
Camden residents and local leaders have responded with overwhelming gratitude.
โThis isnโt just a donation โ itโs a miracle,โ said Marsha Leighton, director of the Camden Outreach Center. โThese young people are showing the world what leadership truly looks like.โ
The project is expected to break ground in early fall, with construction aimed to be completed by late 2026. The 200-unit facility will include family housing, mental health support services, job training programs, and a community garden โ all designed to help residents not just survive, but rebuild.
Setting a New Standard
At a time when NIL debates swirl around college athletics, Kitts and Murray-Boyles are redefining what power, purpose, and influence can look like. Their donation is not just a generous gesture โ itโs a powerful message:
Athletes arenโt just game-changers. They can be life-changers.

As the news spreads across the nation, fans, celebrities, and fellow athletes are pouring out support online, calling the Gamecock stars โreal heroesโ and โlegends on and off the court.โ
With this bold act, Chloe Kitts and Collin Murray-Boyles havenโt just etched their names into South Carolina sports history โ theyโve built a legacy that will uplift generations to come.
